Resources

We do not own a collection of artworks. This inventory of artworks, accounts for works that we have engaged in a meaningful way, through exhibition, text, presentation or other.

Most of our physical publications are printed and assembled at our studio in Cape Town with digital versions available here.

We collect more data than we can process. Harvest is a strategy and inventory of research fragments subjectively selected by the team.

Special Collections

This is an idiosyncratic collection of off-cuts, remains, prototypes and fragments from previous processes at A4.

This collection was assembled by Sean O'Toole as part of his research into the history of the South African photobook, and supported through his research exhibition at A4 called Photo book! Photo-book! Photobook!

This collection was assembled by Christian Nerf, as part of his unpacking of the archive of material associated with his Polite Force project, during the 2022 Investec Cape Town Art Fair.

This collection was assembled by Khanya Mashabela, as part of her research into independent art spaces in Cape Town, and fed into an exhibition at A4 called Common.

This collection of t-shirts was selected from the GALA Queer Archive for inclusion in the Common exhibition at A4 by curator Khanya Mashabela.
