Matthew Partridge hosts RAQ Radio – a live, hybrid programme of talk shows, music, performances, and on-the-ground reportage.

The station's acronym, which stands for Rarely Asked Questions, suggests an alternative enquiry into the local arts ecology and its processes. At the time of writing, the many invited practitioners to the show – who bring along a playlist of favourite tunes to share – have included Sean O'Toole, Sinazo Chiya, Penny Siopis, Derek Gripper, Kamil Hassim, Igshaan Adams, Erik Dippenaar, Hanna Noor Mahomed, Dada Khanyisa, Unathi Mkonto, Keely Shinners with Ben Albertyn, Carol Khaas, and Iñaki Bonillas, among others. A special artbook segment titled ‘Photobook Book Club’ with Daniel Malan has engaged book-makers, independent publishers, and artists such as Rory Bester, CJ Chandler, and Juan Orrantia.

RAQ launched during the time of Cape Town Art Fair, 2023, in A4’s studio, as a daily independent programming initiative engaging the community of arts workers that congregate in the city at the time of Fair. RAQ then joined A4 as a resident, streaming live on Fridays, 3–6pm. Since then, RAQ streams live from A4’s Gallery during exhibitions, or from the Library on special Saturday occasions, towards an ongoing and perhaps more permanent (but still flexible) arts radio programme.
