JEDI workshop explores new developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ways to apply AI to research in astronomy and cosmology.

Fashioned as an 'antidote to conference ennui', JEDI workshops see participants working on unsolved and open research problems. Allowing for the spontaneous formation of teams, and encouraging team-building and bonding, the JEDI initiative recognizes that "long-term friendships and collaborations are great for humans and key for careers, especially for students who lack contact with top researchers."– Bruce Bassett

JEDI workshop was attended by 22 astronomers and postgraduate students from the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) and the Square Kilometer Array.
